Properly inserting and removing soft contact lenses is simple, but it does take some getting used to. Follow these steps to successfully place your lenses.

Always wash and dry your hands before handling contact lenses

Always insert and remove your contacts over the sink, after making sure to plug the sink

Dip the fatty part of your finger into the contact lens case and lift straight up, The lens will stick to your finger

Never scrape the lens up the side of the case—this will cause damage to the lens

Make sure your fingers are dry before insertion , as soft contacts tend to stick to wet fingers

Place the lens on the tip of the index finger of your dominant hand

Using the middle finger of your other hand, pull and hold open your upper eyelid so you cannot blink

Pull down your lower eyelid using the middle finger of your inserting hand

Look straight at the lens and place it directly on the center of your eye

Prepare your contact lens case: have it open and filled with fresh contact solution

Make sure the lens is centered on your eye before trying to remove it

As you look up, pull your lower eyelid down with the middle finger of your inserting hand, with your other hand, hold open your upper lid (as you did with insertion)

Gently squeeze the lens between your thumb and index finger, and remove it from your eye
